Modulus Video is demonstrating its new ME2000 family of MPEG-4 AVC encoders at GLOBALCOMM this week.
The 1RU multiformat encoding platform easily switches between high-definition and standard-definition video outputs. It also comes with many of the features as the Modulus Video ME6000 HD IPTV encoding system, including low-resolution proxy for program guide, monitoring and Microsoft TV Picture in Picture; support for ad insertion triggers; a constrained fidelity constant bit rate tool that ensures delivery of high-definition signals at the lowest possible bit rates; and interoperability with leading systems management tools.
Modulus Video has created three configurations of the new platform. The first, the ME2600 High Definition MPEG-4 AVC Video Encoder, is priced lower than the Modulus Video ME6000. The ME2100 Standard Definition MPEG-4 AVC Video Encoder gives operators the option to buy a low-cost standard-definition version today, and then upgrade later to high-definition with the purchase of a software key. The last configuration, the ME2020 Standard Definition MPEG-4 AVC Video Encoder, allows for the same functionality as the ME2100 without the ability to upgrade to high definition.
