Siemens Communicaications Inc. on Thursday announced that its SURPASS next-generation IP-based softswitch platform helped Cablevision Systems Corp. sign up 1 million subscribers to its VoIP service, Optimum Voice, in less than three years.
Siemens’ SURPASS platform supports multiple network configurations and has the capacity to support up to 150,000 subscribers in a single softswitch.
Cablevision said it chose Siemens’ SURPASS platform to aid its deployment of Optimum Voice, and now has reached its 1-million-subscriber mark.
