Arizona-based Saddleback Communications is deploying CopperCom Inc.’s Converged Switching eXchange (CSX) next-generation switch as part of a continuing system upgrade, enabling Saddleback to offer next-generation IP services to its residential and business customers, and meet the needs of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, CopperCom announced Wednesday.
CopperCom’s field experience with VoIP networks, the CSX’s ability to transition from legacy to IP services, and the focus on customer care and Web portal services through the recent Switchmaxx acquisition were all key in the decision-making process, the company said.
Using the CopperCom Switchmaxx Web portal, Saddleback will enable residential and business end users to order new services and manage their accounts online. The company also is deploying the CopperCom Voicemaxx next-generation voice mail solution with capabilities such as unified messaging and voice mail/e-mail integration. In addition, Saddleback is upgrading its access network using the Calix C7 multiservice access platform.
“Our community is growing rapidly, and the many new businesses moving into our commercial corridor have sophisticated communications needs,” said Bill Bryant, general manager and president of Saddleback Communications. “At Saddleback, we’re committed to staying abreast of the latest technologies and delivering efficient solutions for our customers. The CopperCom CSX enables us to further expand our offerings and provide next-generation services such as VoIP. They have been a true partner in helping us move to next-generation networking.”
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community created Saddleback Communications in 1997 in response to the growing need for improved QoS, and a desire for more advanced communications options within the community, according to the company. Saddleback offers its business and residential customers services ranging from local telephone services to broadband Internet to gigabit data connections.
