New Edge Networks Inc.’s co-founder and president, Dan Moffat, has resigned, the company – now a subsidiary of EarthLink Inc. – announced on Wednesday.
Moffat, who co-founded New Edge Networks in 1999, said he will do some traveling before pursuing his interest in leading small, privately owned companies. His resignation takes effect Sept. 1.
“Dan led New Edge Networks to remarkable growth through one of the toughest economic and telecommunications industry downturns in recent history,” said Bill Heys, president of EarthLink’s value and small and medium enterprises business unit. “He leaves a strong foundation for new revenue growth.”
EarthLink bought New Edge Networks in April in an effort to better target SMBs, which are the VPN provider’s niche market. Linda Beck, executive vice president and general manager of business solutions at EarthLink, will oversee New Edge Networks operations until Moffat’s successor is named.
