ADTRAN has come out with three new routers, which are all part of the company’s popular NetVanta product line. The products were announced at INTEROP.
The NetVanta 3448 multiservice access router, whose sweet spot is dual T1 and ADSL2+ SMB applications, includes an IP router, managed switch, firewall, VPN platform and optional Power over Ethernet. It performs at wire speed and includes QoS, firewall, NAT and VPN (IPsec VPN encryption is offered as a simple software upgrade) functionality. Target applications for this solution include MPLS access, hosted VoIP service, remote office VoIP, Internet access, VPN and dial-backup. The 3448 lists for $1,045.
The NetVanta 3430 modular access router is much the same as the 3448, but does not include an Ethernet switch. The 3430 lists for $895.
And the NetVanta 3100 line, which is geared at applications for which the modularity of the other solutions is not required, includes the 3120 and 3130 models. The NetVanta 3120 is a fixed-port Ethernet router with an integral four-port managed Ethernet switch, a single 10/100Base-T Ethernet WAN interface, and an analog modem for dial-backup or remote management. The NetVanta 3130 is a fixed-port ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ access router with an integral four-port managed Ethernet switch, a single ADSL WAN interface, and an analog modem for dial-backup or remote management. The 3130 lists for $645 and the 3120 lists $595.
