Telco Systems recently announced it has acquired the assets of Critical Telecom Corp., a developer of broadband enabling platforms for IP-based access networks.

“Critical Telecom’s GEmini fits perfectly into Telco Systems’ IP-based product offering for access networks,” said Dr. Zvi Marom, founder and CEO of BATM, Telco Systems’ parent company.

Critical Telecom’s GEmini is an Ethernet remote DSLAM built for the outside plant and provides integrated gigE backhaul with modular port scalability architecture. It uses existing copper infrastructure to deliver fiber-quality services. It also delivers nonblocking ADSL2+, enabling applications such as VoIP, high-speed Internet access, triple play and IPTV.

The GEmini product line, now part of Telco Systems, will be supported from the existing facility in Ottawa, Canada.
