Elitecore Technologies (Booth 104) at WiMAX World announced it is showcasing Crestel Convergent Billing, a platform that meets the OSS/BSS, policy management, authentication and customer needs of Tier 1 to Tier 3 WiMAX and next-generation service providers.

To meet the challenge of providing matching service levels, WiMAX providers require a complete billing, service delivery platform and customer management solution, said Hemal Patel, managing director and CEO of Elitecore Technologies. “Although focus has been on cost-effective wireless connectivity in rural and low-infrastructure areas driven by greenfield operators, WiMAX has found ready acceptance with established operators in densely populated urban areas for the convenience of anywhere VoIP and high-speed data, content offerings, requiring different levels of service delivery,” Patel added.

Crestel meets those requirements with a convergent billing platform and a ready-to-deploy appliance, according to Elitecore. The technology delivers network-agnostic OSS/BSS, functioning through a unified control layer and allowing operators to integrate WiMAX into current networks while offering matching service levels over the new technology.

Crestel, relying on Elitecore’s RADIUS solution, also enables broadband service delivery through user and device authentication, provisioning, mediation, real-time rating, and charging with prepaid and postpaid billing.

This lets service providers deploy differentiated offerings that include voice, video and data services over broadband.

Elitecore has partnered with WiMAX equipment vendors including Aperto and Navini Networks to deliver its WiMAX solution. The company already provisions Crestel to providers including BSNL, MTNL in India, and GSM and CDMA clients.
