CopperCom Tuesday announced ITS Telecommunications Systems Inc., an independent operating company in Indiantown, Fla., will continue its growth plan by replacing its switching system with a CopperCom Converged Switching eXchange (CSX) next-generation switch. In addition, ITS will deploy CopperCom's Switchmaxx Unified Self-Care Web portal and Voicemaxx voice mail platform.

“With the enormous amount of real estate development happening in Indiantown, our most conservative estimates tell us that our subscriber base will triple, if not quadruple, in the next 10 to 12 years,” said Jeff Leslie, general manager and CFO of ITS. “To effectively manage this growth and compete, we needed both a better cost model and the ability to provide next-generation services to our customers. The CSX, combined with Switchmaxx and Voicemaxx, will help us achieve these goals.”

In business for more than 50 years, ITS provides Internet access and local and long-distance telephone services to some 4,400 subscribers in Florida. Currently, a number of new housing developments are being planned for Indiantown, bringing 5,000 to 6,000 new households to the area. The CSX will enable ITS to deliver voice, video and data services and the Switchmaxx software will allow customer sign-up and account self-management.
