Atrica Inc. has added IP Networks Inc. to its slate of customers, the carrier Ethernet equipment supplier announced today.
The value of the deal was not disclosed, but includes Atrica’s A-2000 family of Carrier Ethernet Edge Switches, the A-4000 family of Carrier Ethernet Aggregation Switches, the A-8000 family of Carrier Ethernet Core Switches, and the Atrica Service Platform for Ethernet Networks (ASPEN), an integrated service provisioning and management system.
The San Francisco-based CLEC, which Atrica has been working with for two years but is just announcing publicly now, leverages its own and the fiber of Pacific Gas and Electric Co., with which it has a partnership. The partnership allows the delivery of a wide range of services, including mission-critical applications that leverage Atrica’s ability to cost-effectively deliver committed information rate (CIR), excess information rate (EIR) for bursty applications, fully protected or unprotected services, and guaranteed SLAs.
The IP Networks’ portfolio includes transparent point-to-point, and virtual private LAN metro Ethernet services at 1mbps to 10gpbs; IP/Internet access services; managed services for business continuity/disaster recovery including pay-as-you-go remote storage, and end-to-end management; SONET, ESCON and Fibre Channel transport service offerings; and VoIP as a managed service.
These services run over IP Networks’ all-optical network, which offers fast provisioning intervals, protected circuits, and connectivity to multipeering and data center locations as well as connectivity to more than 300 service providers.
