Integra5 Inc., which lets cable and IPTV service providers blend quad-play bundles into converged services, is showcasing SMS to TV at this week’s 2007 International CES.
SMS to TV is an addition to Integra5’s i5 Converged Services Delivery Platform (i5 C-SDP) and will enable SMS communications between cell phones and TVs and PCs using landline numbers.
SMS to TV will be available this summer, Integra5 said.
“The initial focus of wireless integration with the residential triple play has been on moving TV functions to cell phones, such as remotely programming DVRs,” said Eyal Bartfeld, co-founder and executive vice president of Integra5. “The i5 C-SDP adds an entirely new dimension to the quad play by moving cell phone functions to in-home devices such as TVs and PCs so subscribers can receive and send text messages on devices of their choice.”
