Verizon Wireless has purchased the operating assets of West Virginia Wireless to expand its network in that state and surrounding areas.
West Virginia Wireless is owned by Key Communications LLC and managed by PC Management Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The purchase includes West Virginia Wireless’ spectrum licenses and related operations, which cover a population of 1.2 million people, 22 counties in West Virginia, five in Kentucky, three in Virginia and two in Ohio. Ashland, Ken., and Huntington, Charleston, Bluefield and Beckley in West Virginia are in the coverage area,
Upon completion of the network conversion, West Virginia Wireless will be re-branded as Verizon Wireless.
