Cantata Technology Inc., the company established last year through the combination of Brooktrout Technology and Excel Switching Corp., starting later this month will offer a software update to its Excel Multi-Services Platform (MSP) 1010 that provides enhanced signaling, support for CALEA and bearer independent ISUP.
On the signaling front, the new software update includes the Sigtran M3UA protocol, enabling carriers to deploy services leveraging IP for connectivity yet still requiring internetworking via SS7. The new solution also includes extensive SIP capabilities.
Additionally, the MSP 1010 update supports passive recording and SS7 signal monitoring to allow for lawful intercept in line with the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA).
The new software also allows for the conversion of ISUP signaling to SIP signaling regardless of the bearer traffic route.
