IP Unity Glenayre Inc. has partnered with Carolina West Wireless to integrate QUALCOMM’s patent-pending short voice service (SVS) solution onto BREW devices.
IP Unity Glenayre and Carolina West Wireless will demonstrate the SVS Platform this week at CTIA Wireless 2007.
SVS, a new form of SMS, allows users to record, send and receive messages as voice, as opposed to traditional text messages. The recipient receives a SVS message notification in the same manner as an SMS, but listens to the message rather than reading it.
Carolina West Wireless is a CDMA2000 network operator and recently deployed IP Unity Glenayre’s Versera ICE multi-services applications platform to deliver full-featured voice mail to its cellular subscribers. The carrier serves rural markets in western North Carolina.
