Oversi Ltd. at The Cable Show will discuss its Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and HTTP caching and content delivery solution for delivering video content over the Internet and reducing the network load.
The solution enables cable operators to clear congestion on their cable access networks, defer expensive CMTS upgrades and significantly improve the users' experience. Supporting a typical 95 percent byte hit ratio, it delivers users P2P traffic while consuming only five percent of bandwidth from the interconnect links. By providing most of the bandwidth from the cache, it can reduce the upload bandwidth requirement at the CM-CMTS shared access link by 60 percent to 90 percent.
The same platform also helps operators to increase revenues and enhance user stickiness through new value-added services, including online storage, premium content distribution and ad-supported Internet TV.
The solution has been implemented by service providers around the world.
