Aepona has unveiled its new Voice Call Continuity (VCC) platform for wireline and broadband service providers.
The VCC platform integrates with the provider's existing services and OSS/BSS systems, the company said. It also provides wireline and broadband IP service providers with the capability to implement fixed mobile convergence strategies by assuring scalability, service interaction and rating and charging.
Aepona's VCC solution, which will be demonstrated at this year's NXTcomm event in Chicago, is built on the company's Universal Service Platform.
Aepona said its VCC platform addresses the process of continuing a voice or video call as a user moves between an IP-based access network that supports VoIP and a mobile network. As wireline and broadband service providers migrate to IMS and offer their customers wireless service they can use VCC to offer a single phone number and transfer of services between a cellular network and an IMS/IP network, the company said.
The platform provides service interaction management to resolve conflicts between VCC applications that use both IN and SIP signaling and enables the services to interwork, the company said.
