The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) this week will hold training and certification for cable engineers, in a sign of the association’s growing relationship with the cable industry.
The association will lead the training in Florida on Tuesday, with the help of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers.
CableLabs also has joined the MEF to ensure the interoperability of business Ethernet services among providers and equipment makers.
The MEF has recorded a surge in cable membership in the last year. Operators including Cox Communications Inc., Optimum Lightpath, RCN and Time Warner Cable are part of the organization.
