Tango Networks Inc. has added IMS functionality to its Tango Abrazo fixed-mobile convergence platform, the company said Wednesday.

The company said the IMS-enabled Tango Abrazo assures providers can more effectively integrate their fixed-mobile service offerings with enterprise PBXs, whether legacy, hybrid or IP-based.

Tango Abrazo extends true PBX features to the mobile phone and its IMS-based hybrid architecture bridges the mobile operator network with the enterprise network.

This interconnection is on top of the Abrazo’s application programming interfaces that allow enterprises to customize to their business requirements, the company said.

The enhanced Abrazo is based on IMS, but is compatible with existing carrier network architectures, including IS41, WIN, GSM/MAP and CAMEL. It also supports enterprise movement to IP by including support for legacy, hybrid and IP-PBXs, the company said.
