No. 1 handset manufacturer Nokia has announced it will make Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Live suite of Web apps available on five Nokia multimedia phones in 11 European and Middle Eastern countries.

Nokia sources most of its smartphone operating systems from Symbian, which competes directly with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system. Nonetheless Nokia users will be able to make use of Windows e-mail and instant messaging, address book and blogging/picture share capabilities. Users can also sync their Windows Live contacts list with the phone's address book or send and receive Hotmail e-mails within Nokia's messaging application.
