Google Inc. (GOOG) is going after Bell Canada for throttling Internet traffic.

Google said in a filing with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) that Bell Canada should be prohibited from slowing lawful P2P applications sent over its network. Bell Canada started throttling its Sympatico Internet subscribers last November. According to media reports, the carrier then extended that practice to wholesale customers in March.

The CRTC is expected to rule on the matter in September.
