Maybe we don’t need hundreds of TV channels after all.
In its second-quarter earnings report released this week, DISH Network (DISH) announced it’s lost 25,000 customers since April 1. It’s the first time a U.S. satellite TV operator has reported a loss of subscribers in any quarter. Just last year, DISH signed up 170,000 new customers between the beginning of April and the end of June.
The company blames stiff competition, signal theft and the weak economy.
