Comcast Corp. (CMCSA) is calling in the big guns. The cable operator has hired a bevy of lawyers to help it fight the spanking the FCC recently dished out regarding the company’s throttling policy.
Reactions among consumer advocates and think tanks varied on Thursday. Public Knowledge and Free Press called Comcast’s appeal ‘expected’ and ‘predictable.’ The Open Internet Coalition expressed fear that the move could “roll back” progress on attempts to implement net neutrality policies. The Competitive Enterprise Institute, a free-enterprise think tank, said the FCC overstepped its bounds and that Comcast was right to fight back.
