Research in Motion has, like, totally flipped out.

Continuing its quest for broader appeal beyond the hardcore business user, RIM announced a new flip-phone version of the BlackBerry Pearl at CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008, to be distributed by T-Mobile USA. The Pearl Flip is meant to satisfy the aesthetic needs of that user that appreciates the ability to look fierce when answering the phone, flicking the wrist just so for that satisfying “snap.” Judging by the still-high numbers of folks that carry a BlackBerry and a phone for voice, there does seem to be a need in the market.
