Nortel’s Morin Explains Ethernet Biz Selloff

Philippe Morin, president of Nortel’s Metro Ethernet Networks (MEN) division, this week spoke with Light Reading about the thinking behind the parent company’s decision to sell off this promising business, which offers both Carrier Ethernet and optical gear.

Inexplicably, Morin said the move to separate MEN from Nortel, a struggling company but a large one with many resources, will help the division “consolidate that industry” and “provide more scale.”
