Rural broadband providers were among the winners in the spring’s 700MHz spectrum auction, but many have been wondering what the heck they plan to do with it. On Tuesday we got an answer as 28 such operators came together to create NextGen Mobile LLC, whose motto should be, “Why reinvent the wheel?”
The appropriately named entity will work together — spreading around the cost — on RF optimization, billing, customer care, roaming and network operations. Innovate once, deploy 28 times.
