Rumor has it that Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) is among the top two outfits vying for a deal to manage BT Openreach, the wholesale and unbundling operation of BT Group.
Reportedly, interest in outsourcing the operations of BT Openreach came about after BT Group competitors voiced concern over a lack of access to the incumbent’s DSL colo equipment.
