FiberLight LLC has standardized on optical networking equipment from Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., which will comprise the backbone of its LightSource managed service offerings.
Specifically, FiberLight is using the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7420 managed wavelength platform, as well as the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 4100 and FLASHWAVE 4500 multiservice provisioning platforms (MSPPs) for SONET and Ethernet connectivity between customer sites. Two fully redundant network operations centers at Fujitsu locations in Sunnyvale, Calif. and Richardson, Texas, are providing management support for FiberLight’s network.
“Our customers demand 99.999% reliability for the services we provide, so it was critically important that we choose a supplier with the same commitment to high-quality products and services,” said Michael Miller, president and CEO of FiberLight. “We chose Fujitsu because of the company’s long-standing reputation for quality products and services, its highly flexible metro optical transport product line, and for its Network Operations Center, which allows us to augment our network operations staff with optical networking experts who are at our disposal 24 hours a day.”
