They’re heeee-re. No, we’re not talking about the DirecTV commercial bringing back that famous scene from Poltergeist. “They” are the first BlackBerry flip phones to hit the U.S. market, available today.
The new BlackBerry Pearl flip smartphone maintains the traditional features from the original Pearl, but includes a number of enhancements. The company thinks you’ll drool over the spacious keyboard and what it calls a vibrant, internal screen. In addition, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip also provides an advanced multimedia experience through video recording and playback, a 2.0 megapixel camera with digital zoom, stereo Bluetooth support, and an easily accessible external memory card slot.
Blackberry’s parent company, Research in Motion (RIMM), has teamed with T-Mobile to release the new product.
"The flip phone remains the vastly dominant and preferred design for mobile phones in the United States," said Leslie Grandy, vice president of product development, T-Mobile USA. "Being the first company in the U.S. to offer the unique BlackBerry experience on a flip phone is a huge benefit for T-Mobile customers."
