Google (GOOG) and Yahoo! (YHOO) won’t implement a controversial search advertising partnership just yet. They agreed to a delay based on ongoing negotiations with the Department of Justice.

The companies announced the agreement in June and decided to delay implementing it until this month while regulators looked at details. They hope this latest holdup lasts less than a month.

The deal allows Google to sell advertising for some of Yahoo's online advertising space. It’s not popular with advertisers who believe prices will go up.
