The FCC wants to know if cablecos are breaking any rules by moving channels from analog to their digital tiers.
Ten cable companies got letters last week from the FCC that ask questions about channel moves. A recent Consumer Reports article alleges that cablecos are moving analog channels to digital and forcing customers to rent digital set-top boxes in order to view the same amount of channels that they had before.
The FCC wants responses by the middle of this month.
