FCC Investigates Why Less is More for CATV

Many designers follow the adage that less is more. But the FCC apparently doesn’t want cable TV providers to embrace that thinking in designing their service bundles.

So the FCC recently asked 11 cablecos and Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) to explain pricing and other changes to their cable TV packages, including alterations to analog channel lineups as the providers move channels to digital. The inquiry was reportedly sparked by complaints by customers on analog who say they’re getting fewer channels than they used to.
