Remember when an application that allowed the iPhone to function as a 3G modem for laptops was permanently banned from the Apple App Store? No? Well a lot of people do, and have been a little disgruntled ever since. AT&T Mobility honcho Ralph de la Vega said the problem will be remedied “soon” with a tethering app.
De la Vega revealed the plan during this week's Web 2.0 Summit.
In addition to offering separate USB cards for 3G, AT&T lets BlackBerry aficionados use those devices as 3G modems for $30 per month. De la Vega didn’t provide pricing details for the iPhone capability.
