IPTV and pay-TV software maker Latens today announces the launch of release 4.0 of its ECOsystem (ECO) IPTV middleware, which supports an enhanced user interface (UI) and broader home networking.
The IPTV middleware is secured with Latens conditional access software and is highly customizable, allowing telcos to adapt the platform to their competitive demands and to continue to innovate as their business develops. Latens said the software can also be deployed as a pre-configured system, allowing operators to get to market quickly and at a lower cost.
ECO 4.0 middleware now includes a second generation UI, VoIP, and enables an IPTV operator to provide all pay-TV functionality securely across a home networking environment that includes set-top boxes, DVRs and PCs.
Latens claims the new UI provides a compelling viewer experience, with richer content, advanced graphics and an enhanced electronic program guide.
“ECO 4.0 is a great leap forward in the evolution of our middleware product,” says Latens CTO Jason Rogers, in prepared comments. “This is the first of many significant advances in our product roadmap that will be of great interest and benefit to all telco TV operators.
