Leap Wireless International (LEAP) – once a takeover target by MetroPCS – lost $48.8 million in the third quarter of 2008.

On the plus side, the MVNO added 156,000 subscribers in the three-month period ending Sept. 30.

With MetroPCS doing pretty well for an MVNO, we wonder whether the topic of a MetroPCS-Leap merger will rise again.
