The grim reaper cometh at Nokia (NOK), where 600 jobs face the guillotine.
The majority will be cut from research and development, which makes a person wonder how Nokia will develop cool new products without a fully manned brain trust. Nokia executives respond to that by saying their experts will focus on “fewer but stronger research areas.”
Uh huh.
The rest of Nokia’s job losses will take place in marketing, sales and production.
