There’s a new proposed standard for mobile digital TV, backed by the Advanced Television Systems Committee. ATSC believes its “candidate standard” will be ratified sometime next year.
The Open Mobile Video Coalition, consisting of owners and operators of commercial and public TV stations around the U.S., is pushing for a mobile broadcast standard.
Digital mobile-TV handsets could hit stores within a year.
