Downturn Schmownturn: MMA Touts Growth

You may have had a tough year, but the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) touts 2008 as its best ever.

The group says it made huge increases to its membership rolls and completed an expansion around the globe. There are now 700 members in the organization.

Despite the world economic crisis, the MMA says it was able to conduct important research, establish a new Web site, add a Latin American branch, and more.

According to its Web site, the MMA strives to stimulate the growth of mobile marketing and its associated technology. MMA members include agencies, advertisers, hand held device manufacturers, carriers and operators, retailers, software providers and service providers, as well as any company focused on the potential of marketing via mobile devices.
