A new economic stimulus plan allocates money for broadband infrastructure construction throughout the United States.
The push is coming from the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Pelosi, along with President-elect Barack Obama, is keen on promoting ubiquitous high-speed Internet access. Both politicians also believe such infrastructure investment will help jumpstart the ailing economy.
