Alcatel-Lucent’s (ALU) recent strategy announcement – which included layoffs and a reorganization of the WiMAX division – left a lot of people wondering what’s next.
Well, from the looks of it, there’s a lot on the equipment maker’s plate. First up, over-the-top applications enablement and managing QoS from the service provider end. Next, getting telcos to work with Internet companies to provide high-quality video content while ensuring artists are paid their due.
Finally, Alcatel-Lucent also is focusing on carrier networking, content delivery networks, IMS and more.
