As President-elect Barack Obama prepares to take office, a group of 55 entities is calling on him to tackle broadband policy.
They want a national roadmap for deployment, with details, including open access to the Internet, rights for network operators, a competitive marketplace and top-notch broadband performance.
The largest telecom providers in the United States signed the so-called “call to action,” as did consumer groups, equipment makers, search engine companies and others.
