Three different companies have reportedly made Nortel (NT) offers for its Metro Ethernet Networks (MEN) division, and the company is said to be considering the offers at this time. The same piece, from The Globe and Mail, also reports that Nortel may opt to sell other assets beyond just MEN (like its entire Carrier Networks unit, which would leave it with only Enterprise) as an alternative to filing for bankruptcy.
The Globe and Mail said the list of those most likely to take MEN off Nortel’s hands includes Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), Ericsson (ERIC), Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and Nokia Siemens Networks.
