If bad news comes in threes, then the telecom industry is down two with one to go today.
After AT&T Inc. announced Thursday it’s cutting 12,000 jobs, rural carrier Windstream Corp. (WIN) said it’s laying off 170 employees to cut costs. That totals about 2 percent of the rural LEC’s work force.
Windstream’s stocks closed down 7.53 percent on the news Thursday, at $8.11.
