A group created to help drive efforts for a national broadband initiative says it has published a wide array of alleged broadband facts as a Web-based resource for all interested parties.

The group is called the Internet Innovation Alliance and dubbed its resource the Broadband Fact Book. It includes data on broadband penetration in the U.S. as well as rates for services currently offered.

It also covers the economic benefits of broadband for the U.S. as evidenced by changes achieved with the deployment of fat pipes.

While broadband penetration is often very high in major metros and suburban markets, consumers in rural regions have witnessed slower deployment.
