Motorola Inc. might be well-known for WiMAX, but it’s attacking LTE as well. It said this week that it will resell Starent Networks’ packet core architecture as part of an overall solution for carriers wanting to move to the 4G wireless broadband technology.
Starent’s system architecture evolution (SAE) gateway SAE will be backward-compatible with UMTS and GPRS/EDGE networks, allowing for a staged migration to 4G rather than a forklift replacement.
