There’s a new leader of the Mobile Marketing Association. It’s Mike Wehrs, a longtime industry veteran. He takes over as president, filling the role previously held by Laura Marriott.
Wehrs comes from Nuance Communications, where he was the vice president of industry affairs and evangelism. He’s also served on the boards of such groups as CTIA and the Open Mobile Alliance. Years ago, Wehrs worked for Microsoft, where he pushed for industry adoption of Windows products.
Marriott said she’s leaving the leadership role to someone else after getting MMA off the ground.
On its Web site, the MMA calls itself the premier global association that strives to stimulate the growth of mobile marketing and its associated technology.
