Telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) said this week it’s cutting 1,000 management jobs as it tries to curb expenses.
Of those layoffs, 450 will be in North America, according to reports.
The embattled Franco-American company also is selling its 85-acre campus in Chicago’s western suburbs.
