If you’re a smartphone user, chances are good you’ll benefit from Adobe Inc.’s latest piece of news: Its Flash player will run on many mobile devices as of next year.
Flash Player 10, the same as the Flash software on PCs, will work on smartphones operating on Windows Mobile, Nokia S60/Symbian, the new Palm OS and Google’s Android.
The notable exception is Apple’s iPhone; the company remains very picky about which apps it allows to run on the iPhone. Adobe execs at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where the Flash 10 announcement was made, said they are hopeful their technology will make it onto the iPhone soon.
