China’s ZTE, a telecom equipment maker, this week debuted its solar-powered phone, developed with the help of Digicel.
The phone will only cost $40 and targets the world’s poor.
After charging for one hour in full sunlight, the phone provides 15 minutes of talk time, according to ZTE and Digicel. The phone also can be charged with electricity.
