Ditech Networks will launch mStage next week at Mobile World Congress, to enable voice 2.0-style Web-voice application mash-ups on mobile networks.
The platform will let carriers offer voice and text interactions with e-mail, Web-based address books (think: speak to call), social networking, instant messaging and 411 from within a phone call, using certain commands. The platform can also enable widget-like importing of information from the Web during a call, which the application can “whisper” to the caller. And it’s open to third-party developers to add more voice 2.0 applications as time goes on.
