The NGN IMS Forum’s next Plugfest, which will be lucky No. 7 for the organization, is scheduled for June 1-5. The main focus will be testing IMS, NGN, LTE and WiMAX interfaces for real-world applications and services using the Diameter security protocol.
The Plugfest will take place at the InterOperability Lab (UNH IOL) in Durham, N.H., and will address the needs of protocol stack and equipment vendors using Diameter in functions such as call session control, mobility, subscriber authentication, charging, policy management and security.
“In this Plugfest the IMS NGN Forum provides an opportunity to ensure that components developed by network equipment providers or third-party service or content providers will integrate smoothly in carrier authentication, policy and charging in an OSS/BSS infrastructure,” said Bruno Deslandes, IMS product manager at Marben Products and the Diameter Working Group Chair, in a statement. “This will accelerate new services rollout in IMS, LTE and WiMAX networks, and will help carriers to monetize their networks.”
