Trivia question of the day: Where do the tough go when the going gets tough?

Why, to bankrupt Nortel Networks (NT), of course. Seems so obvious.

Except, not really. But that’s just what John McHugh, former worldwide general manager of HP’s ProCurve unit has done. McHugh, the so-called ‘Godfather of ProCurve,’ left ProCurve last June under undisclosed circumstances. Perhaps he was just desperate for a job and Nortel offered one. After all, even when you don’t know how much longer your new employer will be around, at least you’ll make some money for a while.

McHugh started at Nortel’s North Carolina offices in January; he’s the new vice president and general manager of enterprise solutions. Nortel’s enterprise division is struggling big-time, so McHugh has his work cut out for him.
